Twins cap successful May by downing Jays

May 31, 2015 - 9:41 PM Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Torii Hunter hit a two-run double in the seventh inning as the Minnesota Twins battled back to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 in the rubber match of a three-game series at Target Field.

The Twins overcame losing their starting pitcher to an injury to finish the month of May with 20 wins.

Hunter's double came after Toronto took a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh on a solo home run by the red-hot Josh Donaldson.

Minnesota's Trevor Plouffe hit a two-run homer to highlight a three-run sixth that tied the game at 4-4. Joe Mauer also knocked in two runs for the Twins, while Brian Dozier had three hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs.

Minnesota posted its first 20-win month since going 22-6 in June 1991.
