Twins place IF Cirillo, OF White on disabled list

Apr 10, 2007 - 2:51 AM MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Twins got more bad news after Monday's 8-2 loss to the New York Yankees.

The club placed infielder Jeff Cirillo and outfielder Rondell White on the 15-day disabled list.

Cirillo has a medial meniscus tear in his left knee and is expected to have surgery in the next two days. His transaction is backdated to Sunday. White has a strained right calf.

To replace the two veterans, Minnesota called up infielder Alexi Casilla and purchased the contract of outfielder Josh Rabe, both from Class AAA Rochester.
