Orioles place RHP Wright on DL with shoulder soreness

Apr 12, 2007 - 9:00 PM BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- Jaret Wright is off to a shaky start with the Baltimore Orioles.

The Orioles on Thursday placed the righthander on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Wednesday, with right shoulder soreness.

The move came two days after Baltimore removed Wright in the sixth inning of Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers. He suffered the injury after fielding a grounder from Neifi Perez to lead off the frame.

Acquired in the offseason from the New York Yankees, Wright is 0-2 with a 6.14 ERA in two starts this season. The 31-year-old made 27 starts in 2006, going 11-7 with a 4.49 ERA.

To fill Wright's roster spot, the Orioles recalled lefthander Brian Burres from Class AAA Norfolk.
