On Friday, Charlie Morton went the distance, while Garrett Jones and Neil Walker each homered in Pittsburgh's 6-1 victory..
Morton (2-0) was one out away from his second career shutout, but yielded a home run to Jay Bruce. Nevertheless, the right-hander matched his win total from 2010 by allowing just five hits and two walks while fanning three.
Jose Tabata had four hits, while Chris Snyder went 3-for-5 with two runs driven in for the Pirates, who knocked around Cincinnati pitching for 14 hits and snapped a four-game losing streak in the process.
Bronson Arroyo (2-1) was pulled after four innings, having surrendered five runs on nine hits for the Reds, who were coming off a 3-2 loss in their series finale at San Diego.
Leake, a 23-year-old Californian, began the season with a six-inning stint in which he allowed three hits and two runs in an 8-2 defeat of Houston.
He was hit hard in outing No. 2, however, giving up nine hits and six runs in 4 2/3 innings of the Reds' 10-8 loss at Arizona, in which Leake got a no- decision.
Leake was 8-4 with a 4.23 earned run average after jumping straight from college to the majors last season, making 22 starts in 24 appearances.
Three of those starts came against the Pirates, yielding an 0-1 record in spite of 19 1/3 innings in which he allowed 23 hits but only four earned runs.
For Pittsburgh, right-hander James McDonald also starts for the third time this season. The 26-year-old has given up 10 hits and seven runs in 11 1/3 innings across no-decisions at St. Louis and home against Colorado.
He made 12 starts in 15 appearances while splitting 2010 between Los Angeles and Pittsburgh, going 4-6 in 71 2/3 innings.
McDonald has made three of 48 major-league relief outings against the Reds, winning the lone decision and allowing no earned runs in four innings.
The Reds won 10 of 16 versus the Pirates last season and are 12-5 against them at home since the start of the 2009 season.
