Tribe hope to extend home win streak to 15 straight vs. Rays

After surrendering 23 runs in losing their first two home games, the Indians have now reeled off 14 straight wins in front of their fans after Michael Brantley drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in the winning run in Tuesday's opener, lifting Cleveland to a 5-4 win.
"We feel good here. We feel comfortable," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "But for the most part, we've been pitching and catching the ball wherever we've gone. Here, it's a stadium where we feel comfortable. Our guys are familiar with it, especially the high wall in left. We get to do our extra work here at our own pace and that helps. But for the most part, we've just played good baseball."
Brantley also had a solo home run while Grady Sizemore belted solo shot in the win for the Indians, who have now won eight games in their final at-bat.
Cleveland hasn't won 15 in a row at home since May 13-June 19, 1994.
"It's not something that we're coming together before the game and saying, 'Come on guys let's keep the streak going.' It's 'Come on guys and play a good game,'" said Chris Perez, who earned the win with a shutout ninth inning.
"It's nice to be able to defend your home turf."
Matt Joyce had a solo homer and drove in two runs for the Rays, who had an eight-game road winning streak stopped. Evan Longoria also had solo home run in the loss.
Joel Peralta (1-2) suffered the loss in 1 2/3 innings of relief, leaving the bases loaded in the ninth before Kyle Farnsworth walked in the winning run.
Getting the call for the Indians tonight will be right-hander Carlos Carrasco, who takes the ball following a stint on the disabled list. Carrasco hasn't started since April 24 against Minnesota, an outing he was forced to leave after three innings because of elbow inflammation.
The 24-year-old hurler, who is 1-1 with a 4.97 ERA, threw 80 pitches in a rehab start on May 6 for Double-A Akron, allowing four runs (one earned) on four hits in 3 2/3 innings.
Tampa, meanwhile, will counter with lefty David Price, who has won four of his last five starts. Price was terrific against the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday, as he held them to four hits and an unearned run over 8 2/3 innings. He also struck out 10 to run his record to 4-3 on the year, while lowering his ERA to 3.26.
Price is 2-0 in three starts against the Indians with a 2.76 ERA.
Tampa won seven of its nine matchups with the Indians last season.
