Lind homers again, Blue Jays edge Reds

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Adam Lind homered for a fourth straight game and Jose Bautista ripped an RBI double to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to a 3-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Lind's tie-breaking two-run blast came in the seventh inning, as did Bautista's run-scoring hit.

Jo-Jo Reyes (3-5) tossed 6 1/3 solid innings, giving up two runs on six hits while striking out five to pick up the win for Toronto, which had lost five of its past seven games.

Drew Stubbs hit an inside-the-park home run and Scott Rolen added one of the more typical variety for the Reds in the opener of this three-game set.

Jonny Gomes chipped in a pair of hits for Cincinnati, which saw its three-game winning streak snapped.

Mike Leake (6-3) threw seven innings, giving up five hits while fanning three to have his three-decision winning streak broken. It was his first defeat since May 11 at Houston.

Frank Francisco tossed the ninth to pick up his seventh save of the season.

Corey Patterson led off the Toronto seventh by being hit by a pitch and then stole second base. He was chased home on a double to center by Bautista. to knot the score at one. Lind wasted no time cracking his 15th home run of the season, blasting a fastball from Leake onto the lawn beyond the wall in center to push put Toronto in front.

Cincinnati got within a run in the seventh on a one out solo-shot from Rolen, who smacked a cutter from Reyes into the seats in the left-field corner for his third home run of 2011.

The Reds put two more runners on base later in the inning, but Octavio Dotel escaped the one-out jam.

Dotel fanned the first two batters of the eighth before Marc Rzepczynski retired Joey Votto on a ground ball.

Pinch-hitter Fred Lewis singled with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, but Ryan Hanigan flied out to right to end the game.

Cincinnati drew first blood in the sixth inning when Stubbs lofted what should have been an easy fly-out to right. It dropped between Patterson and Bautista in right-center, allowing the speedy Stubbs to make it all the way around the diamond. It was the 10th homer of the year for Stubbs.

Cincinnati is 3-7 all-time against Toronto, including a 1-3 mark at home...The Blue Jays are 2-2 against NL opponents this season...The Reds were swept in their only other interleague series this season, a three-game set against intrastate rival Cleveland...Stubbs' inside-the-park home run was the first of the sort for the Reds at Great American Ball Park. He is also the first Reds player to hit an inside-the-park home run at home since Ken Griffey Jr. in August of 2001...Bautista has reached base safely in 22 consecutive games...Reyes has won three of his pervious four starts after going 28 straight starts without a win.
