Cardinals target Steel City sweep

St. Louis continued to roll on Saturday, as Yadier Molina went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI and Lance Berkman added a three-run homer, lifting the Cardinals to a 9-1 win.
Jaime Garcia (10-4) tossed 7 1/3 innings to earn the win, with the lefty giving up only one run on eight hits for St. Louis, which has moved into a tie with Milwaukee atop the division.
Kevin Correia (11-8) surrendered a season-high seven runs on eight hits in just 4 2/3 innings for the Pirates, losers of three straight after a brief stay in sole possession of first place in the division.
"They're a confident bunch obviously," Correia said of the Cardinals. "It's tough to get through those guys."
Heading to the hill for the Cardinals this afternoon will be righty Kyle Lohse, who has lost his last three starts. Lohse fell for the fifth time in his last six decisions on Tuesday in New York, as the Mets reached him for four runs and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings, dropping him to 8-7 on the year to go along with a 3.45 ERA.
He was also sent back to St. Louis last week to have inflammation in his right middle finger examined.
"The swelling is still kind of going down," Lohse said. "It's a good day when I don't feel any pain, when I'm just doing day to day stuff. So I'm ready to go."
Lohse lost to the Pirates and Morton back on April 4 and is 5-2 in 11 games (10 starts) against them with a 3.59 ERA.
Getting the call for the Pirates today will be righty Charlie Morton, who is 8-5 with a 3.62 earned run average. Morton was terrific on Monday in beating Cincinnati, as he scattered three hits over five scoreless innings to nail down the win.
Morton beat the Cards earlier in the year, but is just 2-3 with a 6.43 ERA in six starts against them.
Morton will have the unenviable task of slowing down the red-hot Albert Pujols, who is 5-for-9 with a home run and three RBI in the first two games of the series. His .391 lifetime average at PNC is the highest career batting average of any player -- including Pirates -- at the stadium.
The Pirates took two of three from the Cardinals earlier in the year.
