Greinke puts unblemished home mark on the line versus Cubs

Aug 28, 2011 - 2:45 PM (Sports Network) - Zack Greinke puts his unblemished mark at home on the line this afternoon when the Milwaukee Brewers try to complete a three-game sweep of the Chicago Cubs at Miller Park.

Greinke is a perfect 9-0 in 11 starts at home this season, but enters today's finale on the heels of his first loss in six starts. Greinke lost in Pittsburgh on Monday, as he was hammered for seven runs and seven hits 6 1/3 innings, dropping him to 12-5 on the year to go along with a 4.22 ERA.

Greinke tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings to beat the Cubs the last time he faced them and is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in two starts against them.

The Brewers continued to roll on Saturday, as Corey Hart finished a single shy of the cycle and Yovani Gallardo picked up his career-best 15th victory in Milwaukee's 6-4 win.

Prince Fielder and Hart hit solo homers for the Brewers, while Casey McGehee hit a two-run homer.

Gallardo (15-8) gave up one unearned run on six hits over seven innings in the victory. He struck out 10 and walked two.

"The 15 wins does give me a little more personal pride," Gallardo said. "Each year you try to get a little bit better."

Alfonso Soriano went 2-for-4 with four RBI for the Cubs, who have lost three in a row and six of seven overall.

Chicago starter Ryan Dempster (10-10) was charged with five runs on seven hits over four innings. He fell to 15-5 in 47 career appearances -- 25 starts -- against the Brewers.

"I just didn't do a very good job of executing some pitches," Dempster said.

Hoping for a better effort today, the Cubs will hand the ball to righty Casey Coleman, who is 2-6 with a 7.59 ERA. Coleman lost his second straight start on Tuesday against Atlanta, as the Braves ripped him for five runs and five hits in five innings.

Coleman has faced the Brewers three times (two starts) and is 0-1 with a 7.43 ERA.

Milwaukee is 8-4 against the Cubs this season and has won seven in a row over Chicago at Miller Park. The Brewers are 49-16 at Miller Park this season, which marks the best home record in the majors.

The team is also 20-3 over its last 23 home games.
