Red Sox place RHP Donnelly on DL; recall RHP Delcarmen

Jun 17, 2007 - 5:19 PM BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Red Sox on Sunday placed righthanded reliever Brendan Donnelly on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right forearm.

In his first year with the Red Sox after playing with the Los Angels of Anaheim the past five years, Donnelly is 2-1 with a 3.05 ERA in 27 games.

Righthander Manny Delcarmen was recalled from Class AAA Pawtucket to take his spot.

Delcarmen was 2-1 with a 3.05 ERA for Pawtucket with 14 walks and 37 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings. He had not allowed an earned run in his last 10 outings.
