Mets C Lo Duca headed to disabled list

Aug 12, 2007 - 4:09 AM FLUSHING, New York (Ticker) -- The New York Mets are expected to place catcher Paul Lo Duca on the disabled list on Sunday.

Lo Duca re-aggravated a right hamstring injury he suffered in a 6-5 loss to the Washington Nationals on July 28, as he ran out a ground ball in the fourth inning of Saturday's 7-5 loss to Florida.

Lo Duca missed six games because of the injury, but returned to catch Tom Glavine's 300th win on Sunday.

The 35-year-old Lo Duca is hitting .267 with five home runs and 32 RBI in 89 games.

In a corresponding move, the Mets are expected to recall catcher Mike DeFelice from Class AAA New Orleans. DeFelice was with New York earlier in the season but did not play in a game. The 38-year-old is hitting .282 with seven home runs and 38 RBI for the Zephyrs.
