Road Warrior: Greinke tries to deliver in Colorado

Jun 7, 2014 - 2:38 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - Like Hyun-Jin Ryu, Zack Greinke has had plenty of success on the road this season. Greinke aims to continue that trend on Saturday when the Los Angeles Dodgers continue their three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

Greinke had his three-decision winning streak stopped in his last start, a home defeat to the Pirates on Sunday. He has gone 4-1 on the road with a 1.67 ERA in six road starts. Overall, he is 3-2 against the Rockies in nine career starts with a 4.25 ERA.

Jhoulys Chacin has yet to win in six starts this season. The righty, who missed the first month of the season on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain, didn't get a decision at Cleveland on Sunday. He's 806 with a 3.66 ERA in 16 games (15 starts) against the Dodgers.

Last night, Ryu pitched six solid innings and remained unbeaten on the road this season, as the Dodgers earned a 7-2 win. Dee Gordon went 3-for-4 with a pair of triples, drove in three runs and scored twice. Hanley Ramirez added two RBI for the Dodgers, who won for just the third time in their last nine games.

Ryu (7-2), who surrendered eight hits and a pair of runs, won his fourth consecutive start since coming off the disabled list on May 21. The left- hander has given up just four runs in six road starts this season, posting a 5-0 mark with a 0.95 ERA.

"He's basically been a fastball, changeup guy," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said of Ryu. "He's throwing more breaking balls now."

Right-hander Eddie Butler (0-1) lost in his major league debut after making 11 starts for the Double-A Tulsa Drillers. Butler surrendered 10 hits and six runs over the first 5 1/3 innings.

"You can't pitch over the middle of the plate. I learned a few things," Butler said.

Drew Stubbs homered and Charlie Culberson slapped an RBI triple for the Rockies, who lost their eighth in a row.

Los Angeles lost two of three home games versus Colorado from April 25-27.
