Padres acquire OF Lane from Astros

Sep 25, 2007 - 1:11 AM SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- The San Diego Padres on Monday acquired outfielder Jason Lane from the Houston Astros in exchange for a player to be named later and cash considerations.

The move comes several hours after San Diego - which holds a one-half game lead in the National League wild card standings - announced that outfielder Milton Bradley would miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his right knee.

Lane, 30, hit .178 with eight home runs and 27 RBI in 68 games this season for Houston.

He is expected to join the Padres for Tuesday night's game in San Francisco.
