Dodgers hit 3 HRs in 8th in win over Braves

May 26, 2015 - 5:44 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Andre Ethier, Alex Guerrero and Jimmy Rollins all homered in the eighth inning to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves in the first of a three-game set on Monday.

Adrian Gonzalez drove in his 999th career run on a groundout in the seventh, while Joc Pederson finished with three hits and a run scored for the Dodgers, who have won three of their last four games.

Freddie Freeman, Pedro Ciriaco and Christian Bethancourt each brought in a run for the Braves, who entered the game with wins in four of their last five games.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Brett Anderson surrendered two runs on seven hits over seven innings for Los Angeles, while Williams Perez gave up one run with seven strikeouts over six frames in his second career start with Atlanta.

After Adam Liberatore (1-1) provided a flawless top of the eighth, Ethier put the Dodgers in front by smacking a 1-0 fastball to center off Nick Masset (0-1) for a leadoff shot during the home half.

"I feel like I let my team down," said Masset. "There's nothing worse than going out there and blowing a lead."

A.J. Ellis walked two batters later and came home on Guerrero's blast over the wall in left-center. Following a Pederson groundout, Rollins cracked a solo shot to right to account for the final score.

"It was good to hit a few (home runs) tonight," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said.

Jonny Gomes doubled and Andrelton Simmons singled off Chris Hatcher to open the ninth. Kenley Jansen came on and struck out Ciriaco, but Gomes scored on Bethancourt's groundout. Jansen got pinch-hitter Todd Cunningham to ground out to shortstop to end the game and earn his fourth save of the season.

With the bases loaded and two outs in the first, Perez walked Ethier to usher in the game's first run.

The Braves tied it in the fourth. Gomes hit a one-out single, moved to second on a groundout and hustled home on Ciriaco's base hit up the middle.

Freeman gave Atlanta the lead in the fifth. Cameron Maybin walked with one out and moved up on a wild pitch before Freeman's grounder deflected off second baseman Howie Kendrick into right field for an RBI single and 2-1 edge.

Luis Avilan relieved Perez in the seventh and gave up a leadoff walk to Juan Uribe and a single to Pederson. After Rollins bunted into a force out at third, Kendrick walked to load the bases and Uribe came home on Gonzalez's groundout.
