Lackey, Cardinals blank Dodgers

May 30, 2015 - 5:49 AM St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - John Lackey pitched seven shutout innings and the St. Louis Cardinals took a 3-0 win over Los Angeles as the Dodgers' road woes continue.

Lackey (3-3) allowed five hits and a walk while striking out nine while Jhonny Peralta and Randal Grichuk each drove in a run for the Cardinals, who have won five straight games.

"He really had nice control of the fastball," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said of Lackey. "Another good, consistent outing."

The Dodgers have now been shut out in each of their past four games on the road and haven't scored a run as the guest for a total of 37 innings.

Mike Bolsinger (3-1) allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings to take the first loss of his career.

"A team might beat me, but I'm never going to let a team beat me down," Bolsinger said.

The Cardinals got a run on the board in the first as the team loaded the bases with no outs and a double play off the bat of Grichuk scored Kolten Wong for a 1-0 lead.

St. Louis plated another run in the third as Peralta doubled with two outs and Grichuk followed with a double for a 2-0 lead.

In the seventh, the Cardinals added another run to their advantage after Peralta belted a double to left that scored Wong for a 3-0 lead.

The Dodgers left men on base in each of the first three innings and Jimmy Rollins hit a two-out double in the eighth but was left there after Howie Kendrick struck out.

Trevor Rosenthal set the Dodgers down in order in the ninth for his 14th save of the season.
