Reds promote 3 pitchers from Triple-A Louisville
May 22, 2016 - 3:58 PM CINCINNATI (AP) The Cincinnati Reds promoted right-handed pitchers Dayan Diaz, A.J. Morris and Josh Smith from Triple-A Louisville before Sunday's game against Seattle.To make room on the 40-man roster, the Reds transferred RHP Anthony DeSclafani and OF Yorman Rodriguez to the 60-day disabled list. Another spot opened when the Reds designated RHP Steve Delabar for assignment following Saturday's game.
The Reds also optioned RHP Jumbo Diaz and Keyvius Sampson to Louisville after Saturday's game.
Diaz, 27, was 2-0 with a 1.88 ERA in 12 relief appearances with Louisville. Morris, 29, was 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA in nine games, including six starts. Smith, 28, was 3-4 with a 3.86 ERA in eight starts. He was 0-4 with a 6.89 ERA in nine games, including seven starts, with Cincinnati in 2015.
