MLB Note - Boston Red Sox Devers, Rafael
Jul 27, 2017 - 1:56 AM 3B Rafael Devers homered for his first major league hit, a 427-foot blast over the center-field fence on Wednesday at Safeco Field. "I knew it was going out, but I have to run hard out of the (batter's) box," Devers said through a translator. "It was surreal when I got back to the dugout. I could hardly walk." Whether Devers remains in the big leagues when IF Eduardo Nunez, acquired late Tuesday night in a trade with San Francisco, joins the ballclub Friday in Boston remains to be seen. "He's got something special in his bat," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "He hasn't hurt his cause by any means what he's done in a short look."No one has shouted yet.
