MLB Note - Washington Nationals Roark, Tanner
Jul 29, 2017 - 8:20 AM RHP Tanner Roark's scheduled start Friday against the Colorado Rockies was rained out. He'll look to continue his turnaround from a rough stretch of the season when the teams play Saturday night. Roark was 0-4 with an 8.78 ERA in six games (five starts). He's 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA in his last two outings. "He wasn't hurt, but he wasn't the same Tanner he usually was for a while and then it gets in your mind, and you start trying to do more than you can do and you're operating from behind," Washington manager Dusty Baker said. "And now I feel like Tanner's caught up. His demeanor is much better, his control (is better), because he depends on his control." In 62 career games after the All-Star break, Roark is 24-13 with a 2.65 ERA.No one has shouted yet.
