MLB Note - Arizona Diamondbacks Pollock, A.J.

Aug 14, 2017 - 6:24 AM CF A.J. Pollock was given a start off Sunday, part of a maintenance plan to keep Pollock healthy for the stretch. Pollock missed seven weeks with a groin injury before the All-Star break. "Let his body to continue to feel as good as it has," manager Torey Lovullo said. Pollock is 5-for-42 (.1119) with one RBI dating to a fifth-inning single in a 16-4 loss to the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Aug. 1. "Those things happen during the course of the season," Lovullo said. "To say you are going to have a perfect season and not have these moments would be virtually impossible. A.J. is grinding right now." Pollock, who entered in a double-switch and posed up in his one at-bat, is slashing .277/.327/.4586 with five homers and 20 RBIs in 70 games.
