McCann injury leaves Astros with two catchers on DL
Aug 15, 2017 - 12:40 AM Houston Astros catcher Brian McCann was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a sore right knee, the team announced Monday.McCann's injury is the second in short order for the catchers with the Astros, who sent Evan Gattis to the disabled list with a concussion sustained when he was hit on the head by a backswing on Thursday.
Max Stassi was recalled from Triple-A Fresno to replace the 33-year-old McCann, who is batting .232 with 13 homers and 48 RBIs in 75 games this season.
Stassi, 26, is hitting .266 with 12 homers with the Grizzlies in 2017.
