MLB Note - Houston Astros Clippard, Tyler
Aug 15, 2017 - 9:11 AM RHP Tyler Clippard joined the team Monday in Phoenix, with Houston becoming his seventh team -- including two stays with the Yankees -- in three years and his third team this season. The reliever began the year with the Yankees but was subsequently dealt to the Chicago White Sox, who traded him late Sunday for a player to be identified later or cash. Clippard is coming to Houston as a hot reliever -- he had an 0.63 ERA with 12 strikeouts and four walks in his last 9 2/3 innings with the White Sox. He pitched a scoreless eighth inning Monday night in Houston's 2-0 loss at Arizona, with Hinch saying, "It was good to get him in a game, I wanted him to get acclimated -- and hold the score."No one has shouted yet.
