MLB Note - Houston Astros Stassi, Max

Aug 15, 2017 - 9:11 AM C Max Stassi was brought up Monday from Triple-A Fresno after C Brian McCann (knee) went on the disabled list. With McCann and C Evan Gattis (concussion) on the DL, Stassi and C Juan Centeno are the two current active Astros catchers -- and they have a combined 115 games of major league experience. This is Stassi's first stay with the Astros this season, but he's been with them for part of every season since 2013, primarily as a September call-up. He is 16-for-55 (.291) in 30 major league games, including 10 starts, and is expected to start Tuesday afternoon at Arizona.
