MLB Note - New York Yankees Sanchez, Gary
Aug 15, 2017 - 9:11 AM C Gary Sanchez hit his 20th homer of the season Monday, matching his total from last year's home run binge over the final two months. He also reached 40 homers, becoming the third-fastest to do so by getting it in his 139th career game. Only Mark McGwire (110 games), Rudy York (129 games) achieved it quicker. Sanchez also became the first Yankee with multiple 20-homer seasons before his age-25 season. He is the eighth catcher in major league history to do so. The others are Johnny Bench (4), Earl Williams (3) along with Gary Carter, Brian McCann, Willin Rosario, Joe Torre and Rudy York, each of whom had two 20-homer seasons before their age-25 season.No one has shouted yet.
