MLB Note - New York Yankees Cessa, Luis
Aug 15, 2017 - 9:11 AM RHP Luis Cessa was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre Monday and started for RHP Masahiro Tanaka (right shoulder inflammation). Cessa's fourth start lasted 4 1/3 innings as he left after throwing 66 pitches due to an upper back injury. Cessa will get an MRI Tuesday. Cessa said he felt it pitching to C Rene Rivera in the fifth and then left the game after allowing a single to CF Juan Lagares. He was visited once by manager Joe Girardi and assistant trainer Tim Lentych but continued after throwing one warmup pitch.No one has shouted yet.
