White Sox activate RHP Covey from disabled list
Aug 15, 2017 - 7:31 PM The Chicago White Sox activated right-hander Dylan Covey from the disabled list on Tuesday prior to the opener of a two-game interleague series versus the Los Angeles Dodgers.Covey will assume the available roster spot of Tyler Clippard, who was traded to the Houston Astros on Sunday for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
The 26-year-old Covey had been sidelined with a strained left oblique sustained in his last start on May 23. He owns an 0-4 mark with an 8.12 ERA in eight starts during his first season with the White Sox.
Covey made three starts with the Arizona League White Sox and two relief appearances with Charlotte during his rehab assignment.
