MLB Note - St. Louis Cardinals Leake, Mike
Aug 16, 2017 - 11:09 AM RHP Mike Leake, who came in winless in his past three starts, was chased from the mound in an eight-run fifth innings that sent the Red Sox to an easy win Tuesday night. Leake (7-11) has allowed 20 hits and 12 earned runs in just 9 2/3 innings over his last two starts after being charged with eight runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday. "You've got a team that's swinging the bat well," manager Mike Matheny said. "He wasn't getting a lot of chases, so he was trying a couple of different balls below the zone. Eventually, you've got to come back and challenge them."No one has shouted yet.
