A Cuban emigre, Gurriel has played 105 games in his first full season with the Astros. The most he ever played with Sancti Spiritus in Cuba was 89. "His adjustment to the league has been good, whether it is the length of the season or the pitchers," manager A.J. Hinch said. Gurriel is in the top five in batters' exit velocity in the NL, Hinch said.
