Aug 17, 2017 - 8:56 AM LHP Steven Matz will look to snap an eight-start winless streak Thursday when he takes the mound for the Mets against the Yankees in the finale of the Subway Series at Citi Field. Matz took the loss last Saturday, when he allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out one over 5 2/3 innings as the Mets fell to the Phillies 3-1. It was just the second time in his past eight starts Matz surrendered two runs or fewer. Since his most recent win on June 28, Matz is 0-5 with a 7.68 ERA, a stretch in which his overall ERA has risen from 2.67 to 5.54. Matz is 1-1 with a 5.25 ERA in two career starts against the Yankees.
