MLB Note - New York Mets Cecchini, Garin

Aug 18, 2017 - 8:03 AM INF Gavin Cecchini was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas Thursday, when he grounded out as a pinch-hitter for the final out of the Mets' 7-5 loss to the Yankees. This is the second trip to the majors this season for Cecchini, who is expected to provide depth at the middle infield positions with IF Jose Reyes (left rib cage) on the 10-day disabled list and IF Wilmer Flores (left rib cage) day-to-day. During his first stint with the Mets from June 15-23, Cecchini batted 286 (4-for-14) with his first major league homer, a solo shot off Los Angeles Dodgers ace LHP Clayton Kershaw. He is 6-for-22 with a homer and four RBIs in 10 big league games dating back to last season.
