MLB Note - Boston Red Sox Pomeranz, Drew
Aug 19, 2017 - 8:31 AM LHP Drew Pomeranz, 6-0 in his last 11 starts, threw three scoreless innings but then left in the fourth with lower back spasms. He stranded a runner in scoring position in each of the first three innings and was trying to beat the Yankee for a second straight start. "There was no indication of it in the first three innings, he was throwing ball well," said manager John Farrell. "Then the first couple of pitches, in particular the two that he threw to Headley I believe, that's where it really started to grab him. We're not going to take any chances right there. He's been getting treatment through the course of the game. We'll see where he's at tomorrow ... "He did have this last year when he first arrived here. "We've got to get the spasms calmed down."No one has shouted yet.
