MLB Note - Cleveland Indians Almonte, Abraham
Aug 19, 2017 - 8:31 AM OF Abraham Almonte went on the disabled list Friday with a strained left hamstring. He was injured in the second game of a Thursday doubleheader in Minnesota. "There was a ball in left center that he cut off and made a throw to second base," Francona said. "That's when he felt it. He also had a swinging bunt (where he felt it). This is an injury where the 10-day DL makes the decision a little easier. It's not a horrible (injury), but the 10-day helps you a little bit. That was the move to get Andrew on as opposed to doing a pitcher. We'll give Abe some time with the trainers and hopefully, right before he's ready to come off, we can get him a (rehab) game or two before he's ready." Almonte is hitting .222 in 53 games with three home runs and 10 RBIs. He was on the disabled list from May 16 to July 4 with right shoulder biceps. No one has shouted yet.
