MLB Note - Pittsburgh Pirates Kuhl, Chad
Aug 20, 2017 - 8:20 AM RHP Chad Kuhl remained in the game after a 1 hour, 56 minute rain delay during the second inning, and the gap certainly didn't seem to bother him. Kuhl retired 11 of the 13 batters he faced after the delay, with only one hit. Overall, he gave up one run on three hits, with six strikeouts and one walk, in five innings for the win. "I had all the confidence in the world that I was going to be back out there, and never really was a question in my mind with the state of our bullpen not being so rested," said Kuhl, who had been 0-2 in four career starts against the Cardinals. "I was 100 percent. No matter how long it took, I was ready." Kuhl also doubled and scored in the second after play resumed. No one has shouted yet.
