MLB Note - Detroit Tigers Jones, JaCoby
Aug 20, 2017 - 8:19 AM CF JaCoby Jones was called up from the minors on Friday and Saturday found himself in manager Brad Ausmus' starting lineup as the center fielder. Ausmus said he was uncertain how long Jones would be with Detroit, although he's likely to be called up in September if optioned back to Triple-A Toledo. He was brought up when RHP Anibal Sanchez was placed on the 10-day disabled list to deal with a left hamstring problem. Jones beat out an infield single but struck out in his second at-bat on a high fastball. Strikeouts have been a problem for Jones his whole career. No one has shouted yet.
