MLB Note - Colorado Rockies Holland, Greg
Aug 21, 2017 - 7:06 AM RHP Greg Holland is 0-3 with one save, two blown saves and a 18.69 ERA (4 1/3 innings, 9 earned runs) with eight hits allowed in his past five games with five walks and four strikeouts. Manager Bud Black said he does not plan to give Holland, who is 35-for-38 in save situations, a breather from the closer's role. "Physically he feels fine," Black said of Holland, who missed the 2016 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery in October 2015. "He just hasn't quite as sharp the last couple, three outings. It isn't like he's given up a ton of hits and been barraged. That hasn't happened. He's been right there on the cusp of getting a save. But in fairness, though, he's been not quite as crisp overall and he realizes that. But that can turn. The good closers I've managed -- Trevor Hoffman, Heath Bell, Huston Street -- they always seem to right themselves."No one has shouted yet.
