Aug 21, 2017 - 7:06 AM LHP J.P. Howell was released by the Blue Jays on Sunday after being designated for assignment on Wednesday. Howell was 1-1 with a 7.35 ERA in 16 games with Toronto. He was on the disabled list twice with left shoulder issues April 8-24 and June 5-July 30. He is 36-30 with a 3.83 ERA and 22 saves in 547 major league games.
