MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Hosmer, Eric
Aug 24, 2017 - 8:03 AM 1B Eric Hosmer had his eighth career walk-off hit, but his first walk-off homer -- a three-run, two-out ninth-inning shot off Greg Holland. Hosmer has a 17-game on-base streak. He also had two singles and a walk. "It was kind of a chess match at that point," Hosmer said of the ninth inning. "I think Greg knows that, as a team, when we get a leadoff guy on we like to run, so that was a huge at-bat for Gordo (Alex Gordon) to get on and kind of eliminate the slider down in the dirt that's so effective and has made him the guy he is over the years. It all starts with the leadoff walk. It made the guys behind him be able to see pitches up and get pitches up. It was huge all around."No one has shouted yet.
