MLB Note - Arizona Diamondbacks Ahmed, Nick

Aug 24, 2017 - 8:04 AM SS Nick Ahmed (broken right hand) played in his third rehab game Tuesday, when he went 0-for-2 while playing six innings at shortstop for the rookie-level Arizona League Diamondbacks. Ahmed is hitless in seven at-bats for the Arizona League affiliate. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday afternoon that Ahmed likely would move his rehab to Triple-A Reno within a few days. Ahmed, who was hit by a pitch on June 27, placed on the 10-day disabled list the next day and transferred to the 60-day DL on July 31, is ineligible to return until Saturday and could remain in the minors until rosters expand Sept. 1. He is batting .251 with six homers and 21 RBIs in 53 games this season.
