MLB Note - Oakland Athletics Gossett, Daniel

Aug 24, 2017 - 8:03 AM RHP Daniel Gossett was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday to replace scheduled starter Sean Manaea, who is getting extra rest. In a corresponding move, RHP Michael Brady was optioned to Triple-A Nashville. Gossett, who was making his first appearance for the A's since Aug. 2, allowed four runs and eight hits with six strikeouts over five-plus innings. He went 4-4 with a 3.66 ERA in 14 starts for Nashville. "Gossett was pitching well when he left here and continued to pitch well," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "With the direction we're going with our youth, it's time for him to be up here and get some consistent starts."
