MLB Note - New York Mets Familia, Jeurys
Aug 24, 2017 - 8:03 AM RHP Jeurys Familia (blood clot in right shoulder) completed his first set of back-to-back appearances on his rehab assignment Wednesday night, when he tossed a scoreless inning for short-season Class A Brooklyn. Familia has yet to allow a run in four innings over four games between Brooklyn, high Class A St. Lucie and the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Mets. The Mets haven't indicated if Familia will need to make more rehab appearances, but he is expected to return to the club during a 10-game road trip that begins Friday. Familia, who underwent surgery May 12, likely will reassume closer duties immediately upon or shortly after his activation. He is 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA and three saves in 11 games for the Mets this season. No one has shouted yet.
