MLB Note - San Diego Padres Pirela, Jose

Sep 18, 2017 - 9:25 AM INF/OF Jose Pirela remains day-to-day with a sprained left pinkie, an injury he sustained sliding into third base on Sept. 10. He has been limited to hitting in the indoor batting cage and unable to take batting practice, something the Padres didn't do before Sunday's game. Manager Andy Green said before the game, "At this point in time, he hadn't taken swings yet. He had a bat in his hands, and he was going to take swings in the cage. Hopefully he's getting closer. Hands are tough to gauge. Whenever he's good to go, he's good to go. That doesn't mean it's a day or two; it's whatever time it takes."
