Red Sox's Pedroia exits with bruised nose
Sep 19, 2017 - 1:39 AM BALTIMORE -- Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia left the Red Sox's game with the Baltimore Orioles in the fourth inning Monday with a nasal contusion.Pedroia fouled off a Dylan Bundy pitch, and the ball bounced down off home plate and then came up and appeared to hit the second baseman in the nose. He stumbled away from the plate and went down to his knees, clutching the area around his nose.
The Boston medical staff came to check him out, and Pedroia was able to walk off and left the game. He replaced by Brock Holt, who then doubled on the next pitch.
