MLB Note - Cincinnati Reds Hamilton, Billy
Sep 20, 2017 - 9:12 AM CF Billy Hamilton is edging close to being activated off the disabled list. Hamilton has been testing his fractured left thumb by hitting off the tee and playing catch. He planned to do soft-toss batting practice Tuesday. "He's progressing nicely," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "He hasn't done any live hitting yet, but he's close to being able to be activated. We could use him as a pinch-runner. It's more or a probability than a possibility. I don't think the first time you see him will be as our starting center fielder."No one has shouted yet.
