MLB Note - St. Louis Cardinals Wainwright, Adam
Sep 20, 2017 - 9:12 AM RHP Adam Wainwright was reinstated from the disabled list Tuesday night and will be used in relief. He's been on the disabled list since Aug. 28 with a right elbow injury. Cardinals manager Mike Matheny wouldn't define a specific role for Wainwright, but said would prefer him to start an inning. "We'll use common sense, but he's ready to go," Matheny said. "We need to have his presence, his leadership. If we get in the middle of this thing, we've got to do whatever we can." Wainwright, in his 12th season with the Cardinals, is 12-5 this season with a 5.12 ERA in 23 starts.No one has shouted yet.
