Sep 21, 2017 - 9:27 AM LHP Chris Sale became the first AL pitcher with a 300-strikeout season since 1999. He fanned 13 in eight scoreless innings at Baltimore.Sale tied a career high with his 17th victory. He allowed only four hits and did not walk a batter. Sale joins Pedro Martinez as only the second pitcher in Red Sox history with 300 strikeouts. "I appreciate it. I don't want to downplay it or anything," Sale said. "We have still have a lot of work to do."
