MLB Note - St. Louis Cardinals Diaz, Aledmys
Sep 21, 2017 - 9:27 AM SS Aledmys Diaz was recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday to begin his second stint this season with the major league club. He began the year with St. Louis, batting .260 with seven home runs and 20 RBIs in 71 games before being optioned to Memphis following the June 27 game. In 46 games at Triple-A, Diaz batted .253 with four home runs and 26 RBIs as Memphis posted a franchise-record 91 wins and won the Pacific Coast League Championship. Diaz played 28 games at shortstop, nine at third base and six at second base for the Redbirds. Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said Diaz's versatility will benefit the club down the stretch.No one has shouted yet.
