MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Vargas, Jason
Sep 22, 2017 - 8:38 AM LHP Jason Vargas allowed two hits and three walks in 6 1/3 innings Thursday against the Blue Jays. He has won three straight starts since working on an adjustment with pitching coach Dave Eiland. "Mechanically, he just got under the ball a little bit," manager Ned Yost said. "Him and (Eiland) made a good adjustment three starts ago and he's been really good from that point on. He's been downhill, he's been changing speeds well. He definitely was lights out tonight." At 17-10, Vargas is tied for the American League lead in wins with Red Sox LHP Chris Sale and Indians RHP Corey Kluber. No one has shouted yet.
