MLB Note - Cincinnati Reds Barnhart, Tucker

Sep 23, 2017 - 8:29 AM C Tucker Barnhart and the Reds agreed Friday to a four-year contract through 2021 with a club option for 2022. The deal reportedly is worth $23 million with incentives. "Obviously, I'm extremely humbled and grateful for all the kind words," Barnhart said. "It means a lot. Now I'm ready to go out and win some ballgames." Barnhart would have been eligible for arbitration after this season but was pleased to avoid the distraction. "Wiping that out and just worrying about winning is all I want to do," he said. Barnhart, an Indiana native who grew up a Reds fan, batted .272 with six home runs and 42 RBIs in 113 games entering Friday's action. He went 1-for-3 with a walk on Friday.
