MLB Note - Washington Nationals Kelley, Shawn
Sep 23, 2017 - 8:30 AM RHP Shawn Kelley (right hand/forearm) exited Friday night after recording one out in the eighth inning of the Nationals' 7-6 loss to the Mets. Kelley was ahead of Mets CF Juan Lagares 0-2 when manager Dusty Baker and a trainer visited him at the mound. After a brief consultation, Kelley walked off the field with the trainer. Kelley said afterward he lost feeling in his lower arm and that his hand immediately swelled up. He said it felt similar to the injury that forced him from Game 5 of the National League Division Series last October. Kelley, who missed more than two months earlier this season due to a back injury, is expected to see a doctor on Saturday. He is 3-2 with a 7.27 ERA and four saves in 33 games this year.No one has shouted yet.
