MLB Note - Oakland Athletics Manaea, Sean

Sep 24, 2017 - 7:45 AM LHP Sean Manaea (strained upper back) was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday night against Texas. "Just felt it yesterday while I was playing catch," Manaea said. "I told the trainers about it. It's basically the same thing I dealt with last year and early this year. Same exact spot. I told them about it. I came in today and it still felt the same." Last season Manaea left his Aug. 29 start against Houston in the fourth inning with an upper back injury and didn't pitch again until Sept. 14. "Hopefully I can make my last start. Just going to try everything I can to get back on the mound." Manaea is 11-10 with a 4.56 ERA in 28 starts.
