MLB Note - St. Louis Cardinals Wainwright, Adam
Sep 24, 2017 - 7:45 AM RHP Adam Wainwright, normally a starter, pitched for the first time since Aug. 17, coming out of the bullpen in the second and pitching two innings. He gave up a run and three hits, with one walk and no strikeouts. He had been on the DL because of right elbow impingement. "I was all right," he said. "It's good to get back out there. Hopefully, each time will be better and better." Wainwright hit the upper 80s but not 90 mph. "At this point in the season I'm sort of forced to go with what I got," he said. "I think if I had really wanted to, I could have gotten it over 90, just not with the sort of command that I would have wanted."No one has shouted yet.
