MLB Note - Colorado Rockies Arenado, Nolan

Sep 25, 2017 - 8:56 AM 3B Nolan Arenado, who leads the National League in RBIs and is arguably the best defensive player at his position in the majors, departed the Sunday game in San Diego with either a sprain or a bruise to his right hand. After the game, Rockies manager Bud Black said the third baseman's right hand "was swelling up during the game." Losing the All-Star for any time this week could be a severe blow to the playoff hopes of a Rockies team already in a bit of an offensive funk. He is listed as day-to-day, and Arenado said he expects to miss one game. "I think I sprained the hand," said Arenado, who has bruising on the inside of his right palm. Arenado sustained the injury when he was jammed by a slider from Padres RHP Luis Perdomo in the third inning, resulting on a soft line drive to third base. He remained in the game for one more at-bat (a ground ball) and was able to throw the ball across the infield.
